BitBuy.ca acquires domain BitBuy.com for US$1.5MM in cash and CA$2.8MM in equity

Kogan.com and Canadian crypto trading platform BitBuy.ca have entered into a domain sale agreement that will see Kogan sell the domain name BitBuy.com to Bitbuy's parent company, First Ledger.

Kogan owns and manages a portfolio of domain names, including bitbuy.com.

Under the sales agreement, Kogan will receive $1.5 million in cash and a warrant entitling the company to approximately CA$2.8 million in either equity in First Ledger or cash upon exercise of the warrant, which will occur within a year of the domain name being transferred to First Ledger.

According to the public list,There are 14 domains sold for $1 million or more this year, and the minimum required to hit the top 10 was an astounding $1.945 million.

Exodus.com domain acquired for $1,945,000

Exodus Movement,a company involved in the crypto field,has disclosed that they purchased the Exodus.com domain name for USD $1,945,000. This was revealed in a recent SEC filing(page 21):

The Company purchased the exodus.com domain name in the first quarter of 2021 for $1.9 million. The Company considers the domain name to be an indefinite-lived asset so no amortization will be recognized.

While page 21 of the SEC filing mentions the $1.9 million figure, the more precise figure of $1,945,000 can be found on page 9, where the “Indefinite-lived asset” is listed directly on the balance sheet.

Accenture acquired domain: AFS.com for $2M USD

A 3-letter domain AFS.com was sold for $2M USD,The detail WHOIS data changed yesterday.It indicate that the buyer is Accenture.It seems that Accenture acquired this domain for Accenture Federal Services ( services for goverment).The domain is also forwarding to Accenture.

Due to the uniqueness of domain, and Accenture is a fortune 500 company with Market Cap over 200 Bn USD. All other companies with same name "AFS" lose their chance to use AFS.com.
